Meredith Watson is a passionate physiotherapist who has a special interest in assessing and treating children of all ages from newborn babies through to adolescents and across a variety of Paediatric specialities.

Meredith currently works in private practice (in Hawthorn) and at VicOrtho, Victorian Orthopaedic Centre,  North Melbourne. Meredith has worked as a physiotherapist for over 20 years. She enjoys the challenges of working with children, together with their families to achieve the best possible outcomes.

About

Meredith completed her Physiotherapy degree at La Trobe University in 1998.  She worked at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne for several years. During this tenure she assessed and treated children of all ages from newborn babies through to adolescent and across a variety of Paediatric specialities.

From RCH Meredith moved to Western Health where she designed, developed and implemented a new Paediatric Orthopaedic service. She also continued her clinical work during this period.

Meredith has taught the paediatric component of the La Trobe University Physiotherapy degree over several years and has provided guest lectures at Melbourne University. She completed a Masters in Public Health in 2008 and an Advanced Paediatric Orthopaedic Physiotherapy course at RCH also in 2008.

Meredith currently works in the St Vincent’s Kids Hip Dysplasia Clinic and Sports Injury Clinic at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, East Melbourne. Conditions she commonly manages involve paediatric musculoskeletal conditions such as:

  • Torticollis and Plagiocephaly
  • Concerns regarding posture and lower limb alignment
  • Anterior knee pain and sporting injuries
  • Rehabilitation post surgery or injury (including fractures)
  • Concerns regarding development of Gross Motor Skills

Over the many years of working with children Meredith has developed expert skills in assessing and treating children. She is a passionate Physiotherapist who enjoys the challenges of working with children, together with their families to achieve the best possible outcomes.
